In-between

It’s been a season of in-between.

In-between assignments. In-between beds. In-between communities. In-between what was and whatever is next.

This kind of season can be incredibly stressful, or it can become an invitation to abide in Christ.

I’m choosing to abide.

To stay grafted into the faith that has grounded me for more than 40 years. To trust that even when life feels unstable and almost everything seems in-between, there is one thing that isn’t: my relationship with Jesus and the presence of His Spirit.

And honestly, it has been exhilarating.

Reading the Word.

Praying in the Spirit.

Singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

Learning again that sometimes the in-between is exactly where Jesus reminds us what has been holding us all along.

“And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.” 1 John 4:13
